Nepali envoy Paudyal urges Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Nepal

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Nepali Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal urged Chinese entrepreneurs to promote Nepali products and services in Chinese markets through their value chains.

KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Nepali Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal urged Chinese entrepreneurs to promote Nepali products and services in Chinese markets through their value chains.


The Embassy of Nepal in Beijing on Friday organized a seminar on Investment Opportunities in Nepal, where the ambassador urged the Chinese investors to take advantage of excellent bilateral relations.


According to Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, the ambassador also urged the Chinese investors to take advantage of abundant natural resources endowment, pristine environment as the birth place of Buddha and many more tourism products, access to the major global markets and government's preferential policies for foreign investment.

Ambassador Paudyal also informed the participants that the government of Nepal is organizing Nepal Investment Summit on March 2 and 3 in Kathmandu and invited the participants to attend the summit and explore the opportunities to invest.


Speaking at the seminar, former Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Sun Heping encouraged the Chinese investors to invest their money especially in energy sector in Nepal. He said that the government of Nepal has issued many preferential policies to attract foreign investment.


According to the embassy, Commercial Manager of Power China International Group Limited, Ye Fan shared her experience of more than 20 years in Nepal as an investor in energy and infrastructure sectors and informed that Nepal is a suitable place for Chinese enterprises to invest.


According to the embassy, it has been organizing various promotional programs in tourism, trade and investment and the event on Friday was the fourth of its kind in the last three months.
