Nepali embassy starts rescue process of jailed Nepali in Kuwait

PARASI, March 18: The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait has started the process to rescue Goma Darai of Kawasoti-8, Nawalparasi district, now in jail in Kuwait for her alleged involvement in dealing in narcotic drugs.

Alleged Darai was arrested in Kuwait. As the case on her is pending in a Kuwaiti court, the Darai family here is hopeful that she could be released.


Following Darai's arrest, her family members had been repeatedly appealing to the Migration Information and Counseling Centre in Nawalparasi for her rescue.

The Department of Foreign Employment (DoFE) has been coordinating with the authorities concerned in favor of alleged Darai.

DoFE had informed the Pravashi (migrant) Nepali Coordination Committee (PNCC) in Kathmandu about the case. PNCC, in coordination with the Nepali embassy in Kuwait and DoFE began the rescue process. RSS
