Nepal taking on Yemen

KATHMANDU, June 13: Nepal is all set to start its AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers match against Yemen with two strikers. As it is facing Yemen at Halchowk Stadium at 3 pm today, Nepal is adopting the formation of 4-4-2.

KATHMANDU, June 13: Nepal is all set to start its AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers match against Yemen with two strikers. As it is facing Yemen at Halchowk Stadium at 3 pm today, Nepal is adopting the formation of 4-4-2.


Bharat Khawas and Nawayug Shrestha are the two strikers in the playing XI while Biraj Maharjan, Ananta Tamang, Aditya Chaudhary and Kamal Shrestha are defenders in the first choice.


Bishal Rai, Rohit Chand, Anjan Bista and Sujal Shrestha are the midfielders in playing XI when Kiran Chemjong will guard the goalpost.

 Nepal and Yemen have met twice before with the Gulf team registering wins in both occasions. Nepal was beaten 3-0 by the 124th ranked Yemen in AFC Asian Cup 2000 Qualifiers held in Kuwait while it faced 2-0 defeat in a friendly played in 2014 in Qatar. 



Meanwhile Yemen made a winning start to the qualifiers registering 2-1 victory over Tajikistan on March 28 and will look to continue the same form against Nepal.

Defenders: Biraj Maharjan, Ananta Tamang, Aditya Chaudhary, Kamal Shrestha


Midfielders: Bishal Rai, Anjan Bista, Sujal Shrestha, Rohit Chand


Strikers: Nawayug Shrestha, Bharat Khawas


Goalkeeper: Kiran Kumar Limbu


Substitutes: Bikesh Kuthu, Alan Neupane, Dinesh Rajbanshi, Devendra Tamang, Rajendra Rawal, Man Bahadur Tamang, Jitendra Karki, Hemanta Thapa Magar, Heman Gurung, Bimal Gharti Magar, Anil Gurung, Sunil Bal
