Nepal records 8,636 new cases, 6,404 recoveries and 169 deaths on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, May 25: Nepal recorded as many as 8,636 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.


Of the 22,936 people undergoing COVID-19 tests, 8,636 were diagnosed with the viral disease, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP). With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally stands at 528,848.

Similarly, as many as 6,404 COVID-19 patients recovered on Tuesday. The health ministry also recorded 169 death cases related to COVID-19 on the same day. So far, 6,700 people have died of COVID-19 in Nepal.


There are currently 108,428 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 8,833 in institutional isolation, 1,672 in ICUs and 447 on ventilators across the country.


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,616 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Of them 1,863 were detected in Kathmandu, 326 in Bhaktapur and 427 in Lalitpur districts.


As many as 24 districts in Nepal recorded more than 100 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.
