KATHMANDU, Dec 19: Nepal recorded 181 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday along with 289 recoveries and one death, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 9,872 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 133 PCR and 48 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 5,397 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,023 are in home isolation, 248 in institutional isolation, 100 in ICUs, and 26 on ventilators. Similarly, 95 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,573 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 83 cases of the virus on Sunday. Of them, 64 were recorded in Kathmandu, six in Bhaktapur, and 13 in Lalitpur districts.
