KATHMANDU, Dec 12: Nepal recorded 254 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday along with 234 recoveries and one death, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 8,682 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the same day. Of them, 242 PCR and 12 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 6,042 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 5,601 are in home isolation, 289 in institutional isolation, 118 in ICUs and 34 on ventilators. Similarly, 95 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,554 people have died from the virus across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 154 cases of the virus on Sunday. Of them, 119 were recorded in Kathmandu, five in Bhaktapur, and 30 in Lalitpur districts.
