KATHMANDU, Jan 22: Nepal recorded 10,254 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday along with 708 recoveries and 16 deaths, according to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).
As many as 20,187 swab samples were tested for COVID-19 on the day. Of them, 8,212 PCR and 2042 antigen tests turned out to be positive for the deadly virus.
How to help vulnerable groups
There are currently 73,109 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Among them, 71,261 are in home isolation, 1,601 in institutional isolation, 210 in ICUs, and 37 on ventilators. Similarly, 149 people are currently in quarantine facilities. So far, 11,651 people have died of the viral infection across the country.
Meanwhile, the Kathmandu Valley alone recorded 5,306 cases of the virus on Saturday. Of them, 3,762 were recorded in Kathmandu, 434 in Bhaktapur, and 1,110 in Lalitpur districts.
