NEA to build 132 kV transmission line in Siraha

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is going to construct a 16.136 km-long 132 kV transmission line.


The proposed transmission line is going to be constructed from the Lahan Substation in Lahan Municipality-1 of Siraha through Lakshmipur Patari Rural Municipality, Dhangadhimai Municipality to the proposed Sukhipur Substation in Sukhipur Municipality-6.

The Department of Electricity Development (DOED) has published a public notice and requested for a written opinion/response within 35 days if there is any adverse effect on the construction and operation of the project.


This double circuit transmission line can carry up to 200 MW of electricity. There will be 62 towers along the transmission line. The towers will have a maximum height of 40 meters. The distance between the towers will be from 150 meters to 395 meters.


A total of 32.961 hectares of land should be acquired for the construction of the project. Out of this land, 62 towers require about 1.395 hectares of land. As much as 27.651 hectares of land is under the jurisdiction of the power line. The NEA aims to complete the construction of the transmission line in two years.
