NC to take maximum initiatives for conclusive talks with UDMF

KATHMANDU, Dec 23: The Nepali Congress has said that it would take maximum initiatives to take the talks with the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front to the conclusion to end the existing political deadlock.

A meeting of the NC office bearers held at the residence of party President, Sushil Koirala, at Maharajgunj today drew the conclusion in this regard.


The NC for the past few days has accelerated the talks and discussion regarding addressing the demands of the UDMF.

The meeting also discussed regarding how to take today's meeting of the Legislature-Parliament ahead, said central committee member Mahesh Acharya.

Similarly, the meeting also discussed regarding resolving the dispute surfaced in course of distribution of active membership.

The NC central committee meeting had directed the Active Membership Investigation Committee to submit a report to the party president within three days by addressing the issues seen in course of active membership distribution. Today is the deadline given to the Committee for the same.

Meanwhile, NC President Koirala and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Thapa, had a meeting today.

On the occasion, DPM Thapa appraised Koirala about his China visit. DPM Thapa is leaving for China today. RSS
