LALITPUR, May 17: Nepali Congress(NC) is taking the lead in the race for mayoral position of Lalitpur Metropolitan City.
NC mayoral candidate Chiri Babu Maharjan is ahead of his closest rival CPN-UML candidate Hari Krishna Byanjankar by 310 votes.

Maharjan has garnered 6084 votes, compared to 5774 votes for his closest rival Byanjankar.
Ramesh Maharjan, a candidate representing Sajha Party has found himself in the third position with 3459 votes.
Maoist Center candidate has secured 1352 votes, which have put him in the fourth position.
