NC denounces attack on leaders, demands compensation

KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Nepali Congress has expressed concern over attack on vehicles and houses of the party's joint general secretary and lawmaker Purna Bahadur Khadka and lawmaker Hridaya Ram Thani in Surkhet district on Monday.

Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, NC has denounced the acts of vandalism at a time when the country is preparing to promulgate a new statute.

The party has also asked the government to provide compensation to the NC leaders for the damages they suffered. While urging the government to take appropriate measures to strengthen law and order situation, the NC has also appealed to the public to avoid such activities and help promulgate new statute on time.
