KATHMANDU, Oct 6: The Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) has announced a contribution of Rs 20 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.


The officials including Dr Chandra Bahadur Adhikari, chairman of the NBL, handed a check today on the behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The NBL has provided this assistance for the relief of people affected by the recent floods, landslides and inundation.

On this occasion, PM Oli expressed his gratitude and urged the NBL to provide the loan to encourage the investors and industrialists, while also emphasizing to work strictly against bad debts. He also urged the NBL to work according to the system and law.


Earlier on Friday, a check of Rs 34.8 million was handed over from various financial institutions.


A meeting of the Council of Ministers held last Monday decided to initially deposit Rs 1 billion into the fund. The fund continues to receive assistance from other organizations and individuals.
