TAAN contributes funds to PM Disaster Relief Fund

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has contributed more than Rs 500,000 to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) has contributed more than Rs 500,000 to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.


The umbrella organization of trekking agencies deposited Rs 555,555 in the Fund operated by the government for mobilizing support to the earthquake survivors in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim.

An earthquake, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale and with its epicenter at Ramidanda of Jajarkot district occurred on November 3, resulting in more than 150 fatalities in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts.  


A team comprising TAAN officials, including president Nilhari Bastola, handed a cheque for this amount to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Tuesday.


Before this, various tourism-related organisations handed over cash and goods worth Rs 3 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund on Monday evening.
