KHOTANG, Nov 16: The number of students joining the technical schools for technical and vocational education in Khotang district is on the rise of late, thanks to better employment prospects after the graduation in the technical subjects.
Currently, Mahuregadhi Model Polytechnic School established in Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-13 in the district has taken admission of the students in the three-year diploma course in forestry.

Likewise, Saraswati Secondary School in the same municipality has also commenced classes on junior technical assistance (JTA) on crop science by taking approval from the Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT). A total of 40 students have been admitted for the 18-month course though 66 students applied by expressing their interests.
Similarly, Jyoti Secondary School of the municipality is also planning to begin 18-month course of animal science from this year.
Officials said that students’ attraction to civil engineering, forestry, agriculture JTA, livestock JTA, micro enterprise facilitator, beautician and other technical education has increased for study in Khotang district.
Headmaster of Pancha Secondary School, Diktel Bhabakrishna Dhakal said that the wave of technical schools was created as the general education produced just unemployed human resources. “Our education system produced unemployed human resource so far. So, need for the technical education is realized for the production of self-employed human resources,” he argued. RSS
