Despite the incessant rainfall in Kathmandu since last night, participants enthusiastically danced and sang Teej songs, undeterred by the adverse weather. Maiti Nepal’s children added a special touch to the celebration with their self-taught cultural performances.
Founded by the charismatic and resilient Anuradha Koirala, Maiti Nepal has been hosting Teej celebrations almost every year. Koirala, a distinguished social activist dedicated to rescuing and sheltering victims of human trafficking, was commended for her unwavering strength and leadership.
Despite being unwell, she continues to organize this event annually, further demonstrating her deep commitment to the cause. Participants praised Koirala for her efforts and resilience, which continue to inspire and uplift those around her.
