KATHMANDU, Feb 17: Gandaki Province Government has decided to award Chairperson of the National Innovation Center Mahabir Pun with 'Gandaki Ratna Award' for his contribution to the development of science and technology in the country.
A Cabinet meeting of the Gandaki Province government held recently took the decision to honor the Ramon Magsaysay Award winner with the award.
Mahabir Pun honored with ‘Gandaki Ratna Award’
The award—the biggest one in the province– would be presented to Chairperson Pun amid a special function to be organized next Wednesday on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the provincial government, said Kumar Khadka, Spokesperson of Gandaki Province government.
Pun has contributed immensely for the expansion of wireless internet service in rural areas of the country.
