LISBON, May 26: Founder of the National Innovation Center, scientist Dr Mahaveer Pun has been honored in Portugal. The Myagdi Overseas Nepalis Association (MONA) felicitated Dr Pun who is currently on a visit to Europe to organize a programme in Portugal’s capital, Lisbon.
MONA honored Dr Pun in recognition of his contribution to the promotion of study, research, innovation and technology in Nepal.

An interaction was also organized with Dr Pun on the occasion. Dr Pun made a presentation about his works, future plans and the activities of the National Innovation Center. He said that the center has been carrying out works related to the development of robots, drones, agricultural tools, educational and medical equipment, food grain and beverages. He added that the center assists those dedicated to research, innovation, technology and entrepreneurship.
Dr Pun underscored creating employment opportunities in Nepal to stop the exodus of the country's youths in search of employment abroad. He said the country would become prosperous through this.
Dr Pun left for the UK on Wednesday after participating in the programmes in Portugal. He had participated in study visits to universities and research centers and interactions with the Nepali communities in the UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Norway, Poland, Italy and Spain among other European countries.
