KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Nepali literary organization ‘Nepali Kalasahitya Dot Com Pratishthan’ and India’s ‘Purwa Uttar Hindi Sahitya Akademi’ have signed a literature collaboration agreement on Tuesday.
The agreement was signed by Momila Joshi, the President of the Nepali Kalasahitya Dot Com Pratisthan and Rita Singh, President of the Purwa Uttar Hindi Sahitya Akademi in a special event held at Gorkha Bhawan in Tezpur, Assam, India, on Tuesday.
According to the agreement, the Nepali Kalasahitya Dot Com Pratishthan will translate and publish 50 representative Hindi poems from Northeast India into Nepali and distribute them in Nepal.

Likewise, the Akedemi will convert 50 representative Nepali poems into Hindi and publish and distribute them in India. Following the completion of this first collaboration on poetry, the agreement mentioned that similar collaborations will be made in other genres as well.
Rajeshwor Karki, vice president of the pratishthan, special member Dr Hari Prasad Pokharel ‘Mansagni’, and Mahesh Poudyal were present in the agreement ceremony. Likewise, Kalpana Atreya of the Akademi, Dr Goma Devi Sharma and Kamal Sedai were also present.
During this event, poets also recited their poems and the collection of folk tales from various northeastern states of India, edited by Dr Goma Devi Sharma and Dr Sitaram Adhikari, titled ‘Ishan Alok,’ was also released.
Earlier, the delegation of Nepali Kalasahitya.com Prathistan, which was on the visit to North East India, dedicated the Kalasahitya Yatra Samman 2081 to the senior writer Padma Shree Lil Bahadur Chhetri at his residence in Guwahati.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Nepali representatives recited the poem at a special poet seminar and book launch program organized by Indreni Publications in Tezpur. From the Assam side, Rudra Baral, the head of the Pratisthan, critic Gyan Bahadur Kshatri, Avikeshar Sharma, Professor Khagen Sharma, Dr Goma Devi Sharma gave a special speech while the poets including Dr Deven Sapkota, Purushottam Upadhyay Dahal, Laxman Pradhan, Mitradev Sharma, Dr Daivaki Timilsina, Namita Sharma, Pawan Sharma recited the composition.
Similarly, Laxman Pradhan’s poetry collection 'Ekaichin Parkha Ta Juneli', Avikeshar Sharma’s criticism book ‘Pragatiwadas Kala Ra Sahitya’ and 'Bharateli Nepali Pragativadi Sahitya’ by Rudra Baral and Bhakta Prasad Gautam were also launched in the event.
