KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started removing unauthorized identification boards (name boards, sign boards) from today. Boards that meet the standards but have not paid fees and are larger than the specified size are to be removed by the metropolis.
The metropolis issued a 30-day public notice on September 23 and requested all concerned to pay tax for keeping such boards.
"From today, we are removing the hoarding boards of those who have not regularized within the specified time frame," said Shivraj Adhikari, head of the revenue department. He said, “We have reminded the team that they should be careful while removing the boards. It is necessary for common people to know about this issue.”
“All boards with a size of more than 30 square feet will be removed. The names of the sponsors should also be within the permitted size. Boards within the standard can be placed after paying the said revenue,” he said.
