KMC Mayor Balen’s foreign trips show irregularities worth over Rs 5.2 million

According to the Auditor General’s 2082 report, Shah spent a total of Rs 5,254,077.75 on various international trips without proper authorization.

KATHMANDU, June 10: The Office of the Auditor General has pointed out irregularities amounting to over Rs 5.25 million during Kathmandu Mayor Balen Shah’s foreign visits.

According to the Auditor General’s 2082 report, Shah spent a total of Rs 5,254,077.75 on various international trips without proper authorization.


The report also notes that most of the expenditures lacked necessary financial justification and did not comply with existing rules. Additionally, the nomination process for staff accompanying him did not follow the required approval procedure from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
