Real estate business is one of the vital pillars to make the domestic economy dynamic. It is also associated with various sectors including cement, banking insurance and infrastructure development.

President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, stressed that the government should protect the real estate, housing and construction sector as they are the backbone of Nepal's economy. He reminded the government to readjust loans relating to housing and real estate.

Chairperson of Nepal Land and Housing Developers Association, Dipak Kunwar, argued that though the real estate and housing companies had constructed houses taking loan from banks, they had to bear burden of interest for the past eight years owing to the burden of ownership transfer.

President of Nepal Real Estate and Housing Developers' Federation, Bishnu Prasad Ghimire, expressed concern that real estate entrepreneurs were being hit hard due to provision of land ceiling.

The expo began under the theme 'Safe Housing, Rights of Every Citizen' with more than 100 stalls of real estate, banks, insurance, solar energy, furniture. It will run till September 20.
