Shiva Raj Majhi and Ashok Lama were tied for second at eight-over 80 in the boys´ U-21 category, with Bikram Pariyar in the fourth position at 12-over 84.
Among the 11 participants in the category, Praveen Yakthumba and Rishav Raj Acharya were out after they scored 100 or above. The remaining nine players will play the second and final round on Wednesday.[break]
In the boys´ U-16 category, Afnam Mahmud of Bangladesh topped the leader-board with a score of nine-over 81. The Bangladeshi golfer took the turn at one-under 35 before playing 10-over 46 on the back nine. Prithvi Malla, who also carded one-under 35 on the front nine, added 12-over 48 on the back nine to remain second at 11-over 83. Sukraj Rai and Suryansh Chaudhary were tied for third at 84.
Five of the 24 players in the category will miss the final round as they scored 100 or above.
In the girls´ section, Pratima Sherpa, who shot 21-over 93, is one-stroke ahead of Aditi Ghimire, while Kashmira Shah is third at 99. Three players didn´t qualify for the second and final round on Wednesday as they produced cards of 100 or above.
Altogether 41 players teed off on Tuesday in the second edition of the Faldo Series Qualifiers, organized jointly by the Nepal Golf Association and the Gokarna Golf Club. The winners of all three categories will secure berths in the Faldo Series Asia final scheduled to be held in March next year.
