KATHMANDU, June 7: The ongoing district convention process of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) will continue in 27 districts across the country on Sunday.
NC ward conventions in 13 districts today
According to the party's Central Election Commission, conventions are scheduled to take place today in Udayapur, Solukhumbu, Khotang, Ilam, Siraha, Dhanusha, Parsa, Sarlahi, Chitwan, Lalitpur, Tanahun, Nawalpur, Gorkha, Lamjung, Arghakhanchi, Rupandehi, Pyuthan, Surkhet, Jajarkot, Dailekh, Rukum, Mugu, Jumla, Achham, Doti, Dadeldhura, Kailali, Kanchanpur and Bajura.
The party said the convention in Bara district has been postponed to June 9 due to special organizational circumstances. The Bagmati Province convention is also set to begin on the same day.
Bhuwan KC, chief of the party's Central Election Commission, said five-member provincial election committees have been formed in all seven provinces to oversee provincial conventions, while three-member election committees have been deployed in each district to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process.
The RSP aims to complete district conventions in 67 of the country's 77 districts before its first national general convention. With the completion of the current phase, conventions will have been held in most districts where the party has a significant organizational presence.
According to KC, conventions in the remaining 10 districts will take place after the national convention.
The party's first national general convention is scheduled to be held in Chitwan from June 21 to 23.
