Jyatha couple 'murderers' arrested

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Police arrested two persons in connection to the murder of a couple who worked as street vendors at Jamal. The accused murderers will be made public amid a press meet today.



Netra Bahadur Khadka, 31, of Phulasahi-9 in Ramechap and the wife as Kalpana, 35, were found dead in their rented room in Jyatha, Thamel on Monday night. [break]



The husband´s body has sustained deep injuries in the back, both the hands and his innards were taken out and left scattered on the floor. The wife, meanwhile, had sharp injuries to the neck, according to the police.



The police have recovered a blood-stained Khukuri knife, Rs 16000 and a land ownership certificate from the room.



The primary investigation showed they were murdered with a motive of robbery. The murderers made off with Rs 20,000 and jewelries.
