KMC to launch monorail in Kathmandu within three years

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) on Sunday stated that a monorail will be launched in Kathmandu within three years. Dangol shared KMC's plan to construct Buddha Park, conference hall and tourism trail in Kathmandu. According to him, the KMC has the plan to clean Bagmati River, upgrade Balaju Baisdhara Park and take concrete steps to waste management.  

Police arrest key leader of outlawed NCP from capital

Police have arrested Maila Lama, a key leader of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party (NCP), from Kathmandu. A team of Metropolitan Police Crime Division (MPCD) arrested Lama from Kadaghari last night. Lama is the in-charge of Kathmandu Valley Bureau of the outlawed NCP, who is said to be a member of talks team formed by the party to hold talks with the government.

Ruling NCP picks district, municipal in-charges, deputy in-charges

The ruling Nepal Communist Party on Sunday picked the party's district and municipal in-charges and deputy in-charges. A meeting of the NCP secretariat held at the Prime Minister's official residence, Baluwatar made a decision to this effect, according to party spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

Man held with two kilograms of smuggled gold

Police have arrested a man in possession of two kilograms of smuggled gold from Nagdhunga. Bhim Bahadur Tamang, 17, of Rasuwa district was arrested by Metropolitan Police Circle, Thankot at 9:30 pm on Saturday.

Female suicide bomber kills eight in northwest Pakistan

A female suicide bomber in northwestern Pakistan killed at least eight people and wounded 26 more in an attack outside a local civilian hospital on Sunday, local officials said. Local officials said the attack happened after two police were killed at a roadside checkpoint outside the city.
