Prohibitory order enforced in Biratnagar amid growing protests...
‘There was no movement anywhere that the province should be named Koshi. How justified is it to impose a name that is not requested from somewhere? JSP Nepal has been maintaining that the name of the province should be Limbuwan Kirat Sherpalung Province in order to address the identity of the historical heritage, language, culture and civilization. Until the province is named based on historical identity, we will be forced to fight for sacrifices’, said a statement issued by Chairman Yakkha on Wednesday.
On Friday, the party-affiliated national identity-based committee issued a statement saying, 'After the conspiratorial naming of Koshi province, the political course of that region has changed and a long-term seeding of rebellion has been planted in this land. It is mentioned in the statement that the program of the movement will be announced together with all the stakeholders and the announced programs will be supported.
In addition, JSP has requested the relevant agencies to investigate the truth about the fact that JSP Nepal's parliamentarians have been deprived of voting.
The statement was signed by Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajya Parishad Chairman Khagendra Makhim, Migration Special Provincial Committee Incharge Ang Kaji Sherpa, Kirat National Committee Chairman Ramesh Rai, Madhes National Committee Chairman Jairam Yadav, Shilpi Special National Committee Co-incharge Dalmardan Kami, Sherpalung National Committee Province 1 Coordinator Nurvu Sherpa.
