BIRATNAGAR, Feb 9: The Koshi Provincial government and advocates calling for naming the province based on ethnic identity have reached a five-point agreement on Friday. The two sides have agreed to rename the province in accordance with the constitution.
The agreement was reached between the two sides after intense negotiations that began on Thursday. They have agreed to take joint initiatives to create a political environment for renaming the province in accordance with the constitution.

Kamal Prasad Jabegu, coordinator of the Negotiation Committee of the identity advocates, said that they have agreed to withdraw the prohibited movement and engage in peaceful protest activities.
The provincial government has agreed to provide free-of-cost treatment to those injured during the protest, withdraw cases against the protestors, and hold another round of negotiations to resolve the issue by February 22.
