Visiting President of IHRA Dr Ghassan Aidi called on Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal at the latter´s office in Singha Durbar on Monday to discuss about the upcoming world event. [break]
Aidi expressed hope that the event would help to promote tourism in Nepal and make Visit Nepal Year 2011 a success. He was accompanied by Prasidha B. Pandey, the president of Hotel Association of Nepal.
The IHRA has three hundred thousand hotels and 8 hundred thousand restaurants as members. Aidi told the prime minister that they would like to make the world congress a grand success and sought support government´s support for the same.
The IHRA had last held its world congress in Kathmandu back in 1968. The prime minister´s foreign relations advisor Milan Raj Tuladhar through a press release said Prime Minister Khanal expressed happiness that such a mega event is being organized in Nepali capital and assured Aidi of full support of the government.
Prime Minister Khanal said to Aidi that Nepal looks forward to becoming a major tourist destination in the world and sought IHRA´s support for the same.
