Innovative defeated Manakamana School of Pokhara 51-41 in the semifinal played at the National Sports Council covered hall on Tuesday. Ajay Kunwar topscored for the winning side with 17 points.[break]
Innovative scored 16 points in the first quarter, whereas Manakamana scored only five. Manakamana bounced back in the second and third quarters. Manakamana scored 14 points in the second quarter while Innovative scored only 11. Likewise, Manakamana scored 13 points in the third quarter against Innovative´s 11. However, Innovative extended its lead in the fourth quarter with the score of 13-9 and ultimately won the match to book its place in the final.
Ideal beat Wilson Academy 41-36 in the next semifinal as Anish Gurung scored 18 points for the winning team. Ideal remained ahead of Wilson in the first two quarters with the scores of 16-12 and 8-7 respectively. The third quarter ended at 10-10 and the last quarter of the competitive match ended at 7-7 to pave the way for Ideal into the final.
Meanwhile, Angels´ Heart and Valley Public reached the final in the girls´ section. Angels´ Heart pulled off a 21-14 victory over Trungram International Academy (TIA) as Bishnu Dagami scored seven points for the winning side.
The first quarter of the match ended at 2-2 and TIA led the first half with a second quarter score of 6-3. Angels´ Heart made a comeback in the second half taking the third quarter 9-2 and extended it with a 7-4 score in the last quarter.
Likewise, Valley Public edged past Daffodil 26-22 in another semifinal match that was taken to extra time. The match was evenly poised as the scores were tied at 22-22 by the end of the last quarter. Valley Public scored four points in the additional time while Daffodil failed to add any points.
Both the finals will take place on Wednesday.
