KATHMANDU, March 3: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has stated that Nepal is an ideal location for Ayurveda and emphasized the government's dedication to prioritizing the promotion of Ayurveda.
Addressing the 7th International Ayurveda Mahasabha in Kathmandu, Prime Minister Dahal said that due to climate change, there are various kinds of problems in natural destinations like Nepal, suitable for Ayurveda, and it is necessary to go the way to minimize them. He mentioned that Nepal is a natural land for the field of Ayurveda and mentioned that very important medicinal plants such as Yarsagumba, Amla, Rudraksha, Tulsi are found in Nepal.
Promoting Collaboration in Ayurveda between Nepal and India
The prime minister stressed the importance of conserving the plants in Nepal for the advancement of Ayurveda and shared that the government has made it a top priority. The government's efforts, such as establishing a vaidya khana at Singha Durbar, are aimed at safeguarding and promoting Ayurveda. He noted that India recognizes Nepal as a primary source of Ayurvedic medicines, underscoring the need to protect Nepal's flora. Furthermore, he emphasized the need for study and research on the plants found in Nepal.
Prime Minister Dahal said that he is confident that this General Assembly will discuss climate change and ways to mitigate its effects.
