Two-day Int'l Conference on Innovative Education begins in Kathmandu today

KATHMANDU, Mar 2: National College Kathmandu and the Association of  Innovative Education (AIE), Meerut, India, are jointly organizing a two-day International Conference on Innovative Education in Kathmandu beginning Monday. 


The conference being organized with the objective of giving a platform to innovative ideas and research works in the education sector is being held at Ambassdor Madanjeet Singh Memorial Hall at National College, Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu, according to the organizers.

The conference brings together researchers and novel ideas from academicians and researchers from India, Canada and Bangladesh besides representation of different education and research-based institutions and universities of Nepal.


Principal of National College Madhav Prasad Neupane said they have joined hands with AIE to highlight why such conferences are necessary and why innovation in education is an aspect the Nepalese academia should engage more and more with. Dr Manju Gupta, honorary secretary, AIE, wished the conference would contribute to the innovation in education narrative of all the participating countries.


President of AIE, Rajiv Gupta will be chairing the inaugural session where Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University Prof Dr Ram Kantha Makaju will be the chief guest. Founder vice chancellor of Kathmandu University Prof Dr Suresh Raj Sharma will be delivering a key note speech on day one. On day two, Prof Njoki Wane of the University of Toronto will be delivering a key note speech on spirituality and education. 


"The various thrust areas of the research conference are sustainable development goals, information and communication technology, equity and equality, pedagogies and inclusive education, well being and development and environmental issues and global challenges," said a press statement issued by the organizers. Both the organizations have been organizing seminars and conferences in the field of education for the advancement of academics, pedagogy and research.
