RUKUM (East), Feb 5: Locals in Rukum East have staged a demonstration demanding implementation of the decision to announce Golkhada as the capital of Rukum East. They have demonstrated in Golkhada as part of pressure on the government to declare it as the capital of Rukum East in line with the decision of the then Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.
According to Dhruba Pun, a local, over 6,000 locals demonstrated shouting slogans.
Things allowed in the current Valley's injunction
They claimed that the Supreme Court would hear the case in their favor which is sub judice for the last one year.
The rally conversed into a mass meeting following the demonstration. District level leaders including Puni Raj Gharti, Jitman Pun had addressed the mass meeting.
They have decided to submit a memorandum to the government demanding implement of the Sher Bahadur Deuba led government.
A huge mass of people has headed towards to Rukumkot.
The District Administration Office had imposed an injunction on Rukumkot on Sunday after tension flared. The injunction is still on.
