KATHMANDU, Nov 23: The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies is set to fully implement the Integrated Office Management System starting December 1.
The system is being rolled out three and a half years after the government published the related directive in the Nepal Gazette.
Revised interest rate corridor system introduced
According to the ministry, the operational procedure required for implementing the system has now been prepared.
Under the government’s vision of a paperless administration, the system aims to make government functions simpler, faster, more transparent, cost-effective, and efficient through a unified information technology platform. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had first implemented the system in late April 2022.
The directive on operating government bodies through a unified electronic system was approved by the Cabinet in 2022 and published in the Gazette on April 18, 2022.
Using this system, government agencies will be able to carry out tasks such as issuing directives and decisions, registering and dispatching letters, approving attendance, leave, and duty travel, and managing records—all electronically.
