India always works in favor of Nepal: BJP leader Jolly

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Country representatives and participants attending the Wednesday's peace convention held in the capital expressed concerns over Nepal's ongoing crisis and the Paris terrorist attacks. Addressing the function, Chairman of the Sunhak Peace Prize Committee Dr Il Sik Hong congratulated Nepal for promulgating the new constitution. At the same time, he expressed his concerns over the growing violence in the country.

While speaking about the Paris attack and the ongoing crisis in Nepal, Dr Hong stressed on the role of the United Nations in helping restore peace in countrise across the world.


Minister for Law and Justice Agni Kharel, who was invited as the chief guest at the peace convention, threw light on the current crisis that the country is reeling through. "Peace is the basis of development. It helps build relations across the world," said minister Kharel.

Addressing the peace conference convened jointly by The Universal Peace Foundation and Sunhak Peace Prize Committee, India's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Bijay Jolly underscored the fact that Nepal-India ties based on peace, respect and development.

"This is a holy land and I extend my greetings to Nepal and her people. I have come to spread the message of peace and prosperity in Nepal," the BJP leader said.

He further informed that New Delhi does not meddle into Nepal's domestic affairs and Nepal herself should resolve its political problems through dialogues.

BJP leader Jolly noted that Nepalis have been spreading anti-India messages across the world. India is very much concerned about such developments, said leader Jolly, reiterating that India has always worked in favor of Nepal and Nepalis.

Representatives from a 12 countries including the USA, Korea, Thailand, Finland, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh and Qatar attended the peace conference.
