Three years after the Gorkha earthquake devastated 32 districts of the country, Tatopani, in Sindhupalchowk has become a ghost town. Until other entry points connecting China was opened, Tatopani served as the only trade route between the two countries.

Not long ago, ferrying goods from Khasa to Nepal was one of the major income activities of the residents. Nepal’s custom office collected revenue of Rs. 2 billion every year. However, the earthquake followed by a massive flood in the Bhote Koshi River has displaced thousands while snatching their income sources.
