Nepal's trade deficit is over Rs 950 billion

KATHMANDU, March 22: Nepal's trade deficit stands at Rs 954 billion in the first eight  months of the current fiscal year. 


Both import and export of goods have declined in the current fiscal year. Even in this situation, Nepal's trade deficit remains high.

As of mid-March of the current fiscal year, Nepal has imported goods worth Rs 1058 billion, while the export of goods stands at Rs 104 billion.


In the 7 months of the last fiscal year, the volume of Nepal's foreign trade amounted to Rs 1456 billion.


In the same period of the current fiscal year, Nepal’s foreign trade volume is just Rs 1163 billion Compared to last year, foreign trade has decreased by 20 percent this year.
