Hulas and Ashok Steel begin paying electricity arrears for dedicated and trunk lines

The company paid the first installment on Friday, NEA Managing Director Manoj Silwal confirmed.

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: Hulas Steel Industries, operating in Simara and Bara has begun repaying its electricity arrears for consumption through dedicated and trunk lines to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

The industry had accumulated total premium arrears of Rs 141.2 million for using dedicated and trunk lines from February 2016 to May 2018. The NEA approved a repayment plan of 28 monthly installments of Rs 5.043 million each. The company paid the first installment on Friday, NEA Managing Director Manoj Silwal confirmed.


Similarly, Ashok Steel, another company based in Simara with arrears of Rs 175.8 million also paid its first installment. Availing the 28-installment plan, Ashok Steel paid Rs 6.3 million.
