KATHMANDU, Oct 25: Three passengers died after a motorboat carrying people from Kopche in Bhojpur to Barahakshetra in Sunsari capsized near Triveni, where Dhankuta, Udayapur and Bhojpur districts meet, on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Area Police Office, Barahakshetra, authorities have yet to identify the deceased. Police rescued one survivor and sent the person to Barahakshetra Hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not confirmed the total number of passengers on board. Dhankuta District Police Office Chief Superintendent of Police Narayan Ranjitkar said initial reports suggested that 14 people were travelling in the motorboat, but police had yet to verify the figure.
Although the accident occurred in the Dhankuta area, police teams from Barahakshetra in Sunsari were dispatched for rescue operations, Ranjitkar said.
Police said further details about the incident were awaited.
