The committee on Thursday corresponded to the prime minister asking to attend a meeting of SAC on Sunday morning to reply the lawmakers´ queries on several issues.
A meeting of the committee on Thursday morning took the decision to this effect.
"We have decided to ask the prime minister to reply the lawmakers´ queries on current political affairs," Ram Nath Dhakal, president of SAC, told Republica.
Lawmakers will rain questions to the prime minister on diarrhea and cholera spread in Jajarkot and Rukum districts, dispute on appointment of government secretaries and on the recently-presented annual policies and programs of the government, said a member of the committee.
"The prime minister will also be asked about the reports saying that the government was allegedly buying arms from Indian government during Defense Minister Bidya Bhandari´s visit," the member said. Bhandari is currently in her week-long visit to India.
The prime minister will put the government view on the issues. Prime Minister Nepal is attending the SAC meeting for the first time ever since he assumed the office.
Prime Ministers are often queried by SAC on current political affairs as the committee looks after the issues ranging from Prime Minister´s Office and the Council of Ministers, Defense Ministry, Home Ministry and Ministry of General Affairs. It also covers the issues related to the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Public Service Commission and the Election Commission.
