Hindus observe Bala Chaturdashi

By
Hindu devotees observed Bala Chaturdashi, one the famous Hindu festivals, across the country on Thursday.

The holy seeds are sown at Kailash, Gaurighat, Aryaghat, and Guheswori of Pashupati area, Panchase, Galeshwor and Lord Shiva's shrines across the countries on Mangsir Krishna Chaturdashi.

Families of those deceased sow the Satbeej (different hundred seeds) and lit lights praying for eternal peace to the deceased on the day of Bala Chaturdashi festival.

"As per the Hindu mythology, one's ancestors will have a place in heaven if such seeds are sown in the shrines related to Lord Shiva and at Pashupati area in the name of the deceased, and family happiness is ensured," said chairman of the Calendar Determination Committee Prof Ram Chandra Gautam.

Devotees coming from various places of the country throng the Pashupati area; lit the Mahadeep (lights) in the name of their deceased ancestors around and stay awake whole the night on Mangsir Krishna Trayodashi, chanting hymns. They sow the Satbeej early morning on Chaturdashi after taking sacred bath, Prof Gautam said. RSS
