Health Ministry confirms 16th case of fatality due to COVID-19 in Nepal

KATHMANDU, June 12: Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Friday confirmed one more death due to coronavirus (COVID-19)  infection.

KATHMANDU, June 12: Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) on Friday confirmed one more death due to coronavirus (COVID-19)  infection.


According to spokesperson at the MoHP Dr Jageshwor Gautam, the deceased is a 57- year-old man from Malarani Rural Municipality in Arghakhanchi district. Family sources said he had returned home from the Indian state of Maharashtra 12 days ago.

He was admitted to Lumbini Provincial Hospital in Butwal after he complained of respiratory difficulties. He breathed his last on his way back to his home after receiving treatment at the hospital. 


His throat swab samples were then collected and sent to the Provincial Public Health Laboratory in Bhairahawa. His swab samples tested positive for COVID-19 on June 10.
