KATHMANDU, June 15: Hamro Coffee Project, which was aimed at increasing the income of smallholder farmers through an innovative market-driven approach, concluded on Friday.

During the two and a half year long project, Hamro Coffee has reached across the coffee value chain in six districts of Nepal, reaching out to 4,000 smallholder farmers, according to a press release issued Friday.


Speaking on the closing ceremony, Buddhi Prashad Upadhaya, joint secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies, said that the government was committed to continuously work with all actors and stakeholders in different sector towards developing the Nepali specialty coffee in domestic and international markets.
