KATHMANDU, Feb 12: A westerly low-pressure system is partially influencing the country, bringing cloud cover to the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, while the rest of the country remains clear, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
Some areas in the central and eastern Terai are experiencing fog, DHM reported.

The DHM stated that during the day, the hilly regions of Koshi Province will see partial to moderate cloud cover. Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces' hilly regions will also experience partial cloud cover, while the rest of the areas will stay clear. Light snowfall is possible in one or two locations in the higher hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces.
Tonight, partial cloud cover will continue in the hilly regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces, with the rest of the country remaining clear. The higher hilly and mountainous regions in these provinces may see light snowfall.
The DHM forecasts light snowfall in one or two locations in the higher hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces over the next 24 hours. The DHM also predicts that fog may form in some Terai areas on Thursday morning. It has advised all concerned parties to remain cautious, as this may partially affect daily life, health, roads, and air travel.
