KATHMANDU, Feb 11: Nepal’s export of Information Technology (IT) goods and services is gradually increasing. In the first six months of the current Fiscal Year 2024/25, IT related goods and services worth over Rs 28.5 billion were exported from Nepal.
According to data released by Nepal Rastra Bank, IT goods and services worth over Rs 3.52 billion were imported from the mid-July to mid-January.

In the five months from mid-July to mid-December, IT exports amounted to Rs 22.89 billion. This shows an increase of about Rs 5.16 billion in exports in just one month.
The NRB published this data based on the details of the amounts received by individuals and companies exporting services from Nepal through banks and financial institutions.
In the FY 2023/2024, the export of telecommunications, computer and information services was Rs 1.554 billion. The export worth Rs 15.80 billion was recorded in the FY 2022/2023, while it was Rs 14.53 billion in FY 2021/2022.
