Goods worth Rs 5.26 billion exported through Birgunj Customs Office

PARSA, Sept 26: Goods worth Rs 5.263 billion have been exported from the Birgunj Customs Office as of the end of Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September) in the current fiscal year.

In the same period of the last fiscal year, goods worth Rs 5.293 billion were exported.

Deepak Lamichhane, chief customs administrator of the customs office, said that 6.953 million kilograms of mustard cake worth Rs 495.92 million were exported from the customs office, representing an increase in the export of mustard cake compared to the past.

Until the end of Bhadra of the current fiscal year, about 1.4568 million  kilograms of synthetic yarn worth Rs 333.39 million have been exported.

About 838,140 kilograms of synthetic yarn worth Rs 203.66 million was exported in the same period last year. About 1.79160 million kilograms of 'MS steel strip' worth Rs 129.32 million have been exported till the month of Bhadra of the current fiscal year.

As of the end of Bhadra, 54,182 square meters of woolen carpets worth Rs 118.2 million have been exported. This represents a 20.43 percent decline in woolen carpet exports compared to the same period last year.

Additionally, during the same period of Bhadra, 13.645 million liters of juice and jam worth Rs 1.293 billion have been exported.

Compared to the end of Bhadra in the previous fiscal year, the export of juice and jam has increased by 5.11 percent during the same period of the current fiscal year. Approximately, 67,380 kilograms of dog or cat food, valued at Rs 117.98 million has been exported until the end of Bhadra this fiscal year.
