KATHMANDU, August 7: A meeting held by the National Examination Board (NEB) has decided to postpone Grade 12 exams until further notice.
According to Janga Bahadur Aryal, spokesperson for NEB, Grade 12 exams had to be postponed due to an increase in the risk of COVID-19 infections across the country. Any information regarding the postponed exams will be released 15 days prior to the next examination dates, Aryal said.
Grade XI exams to begin from June 15
The meeting postponed Grade 12 exams which were scheduled from August 15 to August 25.
The NEB, however, has not said anything about Grade 11 examinations that are scheduled to begin from Sunday. Also, Tribhuvan University has not taken any decision to put off its ongoing examinations of various programs.
Earlier, The Ministry of Health and Population had recommended to the CCMC to postpone the exams of Grade 12, citing the risk of rising COVID-19 infection.
Following the recommendation, the ministry had sent a letter to NEB on Friday for further opinion on the matter.
