Govt employees have no option but to go to assigned workplace: Minister Pandit

KATHMANDU, Jan 2: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Lal Babu Pandit has said that the government employees have no option but to go to the workplaces assigned by the government.


Speaking with Shree Ram Paudel for Nagarik Frontline on Wednesday, Minister Pandit said that the all government employees working under different service categories need to submit online applications for civil servant adjustments. Stating that the ongoing adjustment process is being done in line with the constitution, he said that all the employees from office assistants to secretaries are bound to submit their application. He reiterated that no one can deny submitting the application pointing out any reasons.

Minister Pandit claimed that civil servant ordinance has provided incentives to those wishing to go to work at the provincial and local levels and also has ensured provision to return to the federal government through internal promotions and through open competition. He further said that the ordinance does not hinder career prospect of any government employees.


"No one has been discriminated against and everyone should submit application for the adjustment," he said, adding "The government is introducing Federal Civil Act which will ensure all the provisions for the employees." He pointed out the need of controlling the activities of the trade unions and the government will work out in addressing the demand of the employees.
