KATHMANDU, Aug 18: A girl was swept away today by the Seti River in Doti. The District Police Office, Doti has identified the girl missing in the river as Karishma Nepali, the eight-year-old daughter of Dil Bahadur Nepali of Rajpur in Dipayal Silgadhi municipality-4.

The girl who had arrived at her maternal uncle's home reportedly vanished in the river in course of taking a bath, Deputy Superintendent of Police Lal Bahadur Dhami said. Until the filing of this report, a joint security team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force is searching for her with the help of locals. Increased water flow and muddy water have made the search efforts challenging.
The river has so far washed away eight people since mid-April.
