FSU elections halted at 13 campuses

KATHMANDU, March 19: Although voting is going on in all the campuses in the Kathmandu Valley, the election process has been stopped in 13 campuses out of the 62 campuses across the country.

KATHMANDU, March 19: Although voting is going on in all the campuses in the Kathmandu Valley, the election process has been stopped in 13 campuses out of the 62 campuses across the country.


The election process of some campuses in the valley and some campuses outside the valley has been stopped due to disputes between student organizations. In the valley, the election process is halted at RR Campus, Amrit Science Campus, Patan Multiple Campus, Nepal Commerce Campus and Bishwa Bhasa Campus. The election at the Nepal Commerce Campus was stopped at the last minute.

Similarly, Prithvi Narayan Campus of Pokhara, Paschimanchal Engineering Campus, PokharaMultiple Campus, Pokhara Nursing Campus, Thakuram Multiple Campus Birgunj, Birendra Multipurpose Campus Chitwan, Dhawalagiri Multiple Campus Baglung and Siddhanath Science Campus, which have the largest number of students, have stopped the election process. Similarly, in Trichandra campus, the election is scheduled for March 23.


TU has said that FSU elections are underway at the rest of the campuses from 8:00AM today. The electionS will continue till 4PM.


FSU elections, which should be held every two years, had not been held regularly since 2009. Although FSU elections were held in March 2017, they were not held on all campuses.
