Healthy skin is the reflection of a healthy lifestyle. And going natural can help you get that glow from inside this summer. As experts point out, a healthy skin is the reflection of a healthy body and mind. But in this age of hectic lifestyle and tight schedules, we are forsaking those habits that are good for our overall well being and the skin becomes the first casualty.
"One aspect that everyone should keep in mind is consistency, whether it is a healthy balanced diet, a good skin care routine or enough hydration. To maintain a healthy skin, one has to work consistently on these factors," says Dr Nirupama Parwanda, a dermatologist. It's often said that you are what you eat. And the health of our skin completely depends on what we consume.
"Actually the condition of the skin depends mostly on the health of the liver and if it doesn't function properly, the toxins that are in our body will eventually affect the skin. Huge amount of toxin accumulation in the subterranean layers of the skin causes infection leading to many issues, including premature aging, wrinkles, brown spots, rashes, acne, etc.," informs Seema Nanda, a cosmetologist.

While what one eats is important for the skin, so are the things that one applies on it. These days the markets are flooded with skincare products promising the moon. But do these really work wonders as claimed by these companies? This is where the person should act wisely and go for products that are natural.
As Dr Parwanda points out, it is always the best to look for skincare ingredients that have proven efficacy and years of research backing them.
